Management Services to the Board of Directors including Website Administration provided by Dowgal Community Association Services (DCAS)

Attention New Owners

If you have recently purchased a home in Buckhorn Preserve, it may take up to 30 days for your closing agent to send us the necessary documentation and fees.  During this time, we are unable to approve your website registration until we can verify ownership and the transfer process has been completed in our system.  We process transfers the day we receive them or by next business day.

Attention Dog Walkers

Please be mindful of others when walking your dogs in the community and properly pick up after them. This is in the CCRs but it’s worth repeating that homeowners should not have to pick up after your dogs. Do the right thing. If any homeowner witnesses a dog owner not picking up after their dogs, please let us know who it is if you know the offender and we’ll promptly send a written request to them to do so.

NOTICE TO REALTORS

Do not contact the HOA to have a questionnaire filled out for your buyer. The HOA provides free copies of Association Governing Documents to Association Members under the Association Docs section. For non-HOA Members, you may order a complete set through Homewisedocs.com. If your buyer is unable to determine the answers to their questions from the governing docs, we suggest seeking qualified legal advice from an attorney. The HOA does not provide legal advice nor does the HOA speculate on what may or may not affect a buyer’s potential plans for the property or speculate on what changes could be made in the future on governing docs.

Hillsborough County News:

Flood Information

Hillsborough County is a participating community in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA’s) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Furthermore, since October of 1992, the County has taken advantage of the opportunity to participate in the NFIP’s Community Rating System, or CRS. The CRS program incentivizes communities to go above and beyond minimum standards to implement best practices that better protect the community from flooding.

Notice Regarding Changes in Trash Days

Hillsborough County announced January 3rd that trash, recycling, and yard waste days are changing January 31st.  It appears that our new trash days for Buckhorn Preserve will be:

Garbage (Grey bin) Mondays & Thursdays

Recycling (Blue bin) Thursdays

Yard Debris (neatly trimmed or in barrels) Thursdays

Bulky Item Pickup

Please do not leave bulky items such as furniture etc. at curbside without first scheduling a pickup with Hillsborough County.  If our inspectors note it, and it’s not removed in a timely manner, you will receive a notice from the HOA.  If the HOA removes it, you will be billed the cost from our vendor for removal – typically $150.  This isn’t the way to go, simply call the county to schedule a pickup and avoid the charges and hassle from the HOA.  You can contact the county at (813) 272-5680 and they will be happy to assist you.

You can find more information online at the link here: Hillsborough County Special Curbside Pickup for Bulky Items

Street Parking – ALSO – Parking on any grass is prohibited!

Below is the handy flyer provided to show the parking regulations for Hillsborough County.  The roads in Buckhorn Preserve are owned and regulated by Hillsborough County.  Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the regulations so you can hopefully avoid being ticketed by the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office.  More information can be found on the Hillsborough County Resources page on this site or by contacting the county directly.

What’s new in Buckhorn Preserve?

Accident at Buckhorn Preserve Blvd/Durant Entrance

*This project has been completed!

UPDATE 9/15/2024: Classic Stone Gallery has not yet completed the letter etching for the new granite due to a machine/equipment failure.  They hope to have the machine repaired soon to be able to complete this work and install the granite.  Please note that neither management, nor the Association has any control over the time involved in creating this custom, special order piece of granite.  We understand the frustration caused by delays, however, please note the Association has worked hard and been through several granite vendors to be able to find a vendor who would take this job due to size/complexity, and difficulty in sourcing material.

UPDATE July 30th, 2024:  As you may have noticed, progress has come to what appears to be a standstill but we assure you, that’s not the case.  We ran into some unfortunate luck with the granite fabricator that originally created the granite in 2019.  It seems they were recently purchased by another entity who doesn’t have the same high level of customer service we had with the prior owners.  This translated into almost 8 weeks of back and forth with no end in sight.  The Association decided to seek another vendor and after some false starts, we are pleased to be now working with Classic Stone Gallery on Adamo Drive.  They are currently recreating the broken granite in conjunction with Sign Parrot, also in Tampa, who recreated the design work for us.  As of today July 30th, Classic Stone Gallery reports that the new granite has been cut to size, all design work is completed and we are on the schedule for having the design and lettering cut and painted.  They anticipate no more than 2 weeks for that to be completed.  Upon completion, they will also handle the reinstallation.  Once the granite is installed, the landscaping will be completed within one week post granite installation.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but want to be transparent on the details of the project.  We have already received payment from the driver’s insurance that has covered all work to this point and will file a second claim with the Association’s insurance carrier to cover any remainder.  We do not anticipate this incident to have an net impact on Association funds.

As many are aware, there was an accident at the main entrance to Buckhorn Preserve Thursday evening around 8:10 PM that caused significant damage to the entrance monument.  The monument was impacted by a truck causing a section of the wall and the planter to be destroyed.  Friday morning, we met with the residents of the home adjacent to the accident and are happy to find that they did not sustain any injuries.  We have no information on the driver’s condition other than anecdotal information that he was presumably standing and able to talk to people on scene.  Hillsborough County Sheriff’s responded to the scene.  Association Members can track this project in detail here.

Improved Web Experience

Our latest website is provided by management included at no extra charge.  We believe it strikes a better balance of features we need from our website and allows more customization.  We leased our old site and as you could tell by lack of changes, we really couldn’t customize it.  We are excited about this new site!

Entrance Cameras

Installed in 2018, we continue to have fully functioning 24 hour surveillance cameras at each entrance which are regularly inspected and maintained.  Over the years, our management team has worked closely with law enforcement to provide footage for people and vehicles entering and exiting Buckhorn Preserve who may have been involved in criminal activity.

Our Community

We are going into our third year with our current management partner Dowgal Community Association Services and we couldn’t be happier.  We are provided top level service and have received excellent feedback from residents on their performance.   Overall, the community is doing well and looking forward to the  future!  We look forward to the next barbeque and other possible activities!
